Replacement Windows: The Buying Process

The Replacement Window Buying Process

We want to take the guess work out of the replacement window buying process. Here is a brief overview of what to expect during your window replacement project.

Contact our office via our website form to request a quote or call us directly at (727) 472-5610. You will speak with one of our project managers to schedule your FREE in-home consultation with Karoly, the owner and contractor. They will provide you with your appointment details via email as a confirmation that you are on the schedule. They will also provide you with product brochures from our top rated suppliers.

After your consultation, our office will prepare a contract based on the conversation you and Karoly have at your home. The contract will show details of the products you will be purchasing and will cover any other details that are specific to your job. When you sign, the down payment will be processed (usually the same day). By Florida law, we are required to wait for 3 days, in case you want to cancel the order.

After your order is placed, we will receive confirmation that your order has been placed with the supplier. Your products then go into production according to the suppliers production schedule. After a few weeks, we will receive a tentative date of delivery. This date is subject to change as your replacement windows & door move through the production stages.

There is a form we will send you which is required for permitting. It is called a Notice of Commencement. This information on this form must match county property records and be filled out by the home owner. The form needs signed in front of a notary and the original needs mailed back to our Clearwater office. This will be turned in when we pull your permit for your home.

We do our best to update you as we get new information from the supplier. When we get a firm date of delivery from the supplier we can then get you scheduled for installation. When it comes time for the install, you can take steps to prepare your windows for a smooth replacement. Please have all blinds down so the windows are accessible. Also have furniture pulled away from the windows so our installation team has room to work.

When our full time installation crew arrives, they will prep their work areas and survey what they need to do. All of our installers are fully trained in Karoly craftsmanship and are trained to do it his way. They will remove the old windows and replace them with your beautiful replacement windows. When they wrap up, they will leave your home clean and free of debris.

After installation, we have to schedule for an inspector to come and view your windows. The inspector will ensure your replacement windows meet Florida building codes and are installed according to our plans. Once the inspection passes, we will schedule a post inspection visit from our install team, if required, to finalize the project.

We hope you take the time to leave a good review about your replacement windows and your experience with Karoly Windows & Doors
