Hurricane Impact Windows ARE Covered
Under the MSFH Program, “Opening Protection” is an approved category of rebate-qualified upgrades. So, if you’re upgrading, be sure to apply!
Funding Is Limited
Funding for the program is limited, and the State prioritizes applicants by income and age, so it pays to get started early.

Upgrade Your Windows for My Safe Florida Home
Impact Windows
Every MSFH-compliant window will likely be a hurricane impact window, as impact resistance is a key trait of wind mitigation upgrades for the openings in your home.
Double Hung Windows
Easy to operate vertical sliding double-hung windows are an incredibly popular option for protecting window openings that are tall and narrow throughout the Tampa area.
Sliding Windows
Horizontal sliders are great for wider window openings in rooms that need more ventilation like the kitchen. Impact sliding windows are ideal for complying with MSFH upgrade guidelines.
Picture Windows
Big, beautiful, and bright, picture windows provide a great view out of your home, but need to be made extra-strong to resist high winds and flying objects. Upgrade to meet MSFH requirements!
Casement Windows
Casement windows swing outwards to create a wider opening and are easy to operate. Get My Safe Florida Home compliant casements that are incredibly hurricane resistant to protect your home.
Awning Windows
These windows swing on their vertical axis to open without letting the rain in, but seal tight to maintain protection during storms that complies with MSFH wind mitigation requirements.
Bay Windows
Bay windows project out from the side of your home to give you a more panoramic view from the inside. Make yours as tough as possible against wind to meet MSFH program requirements.
Custom Windows
Get custom-crafted wind mitigation solutions for your Tampa home that meet the requirements of the My Safe Florida Home program to earn you rebates while maximizing protection.
MSFH Program Compliant Doors
Windows aren’t the only openings in the home that are part of the My Safe Florida Home program. Doors are also a critical component in your Tampa home’s wind mitigation needs. Upgrade your exterior doors to comply with MSFH program requirements to improve your hurricane protection and claim a rebate on your costs!
My Safe Florida Home Doors
Sliding Glass Doors
Large glass doors give you a great view. However, to protect against hurricane damage, you need glass doors that are made to withstand strong winds and heavy impacts.
Standard Sliding Patio Doors
We offer impact sliding patio doors built to meet missile impact D testing standards as well as MSFH program grant requirements. Upgrade your patio doors and protect your home!
Pocket Sliding Doors
With rails that run along your wall, these doors can open extra-wide, further than standard sliding doors. Upgrade to impact-resistant pocket sliders to meet MSFH requirements.
Bi-Parting Doors
These sliding doors split and lock down the middle. Get impact-resistant bi-parting doors that are extra tough to meet My Safe Florida Home grant standards.
Exterior Doors
Your exterior doors are your first line of defense against hurricane-force winds, rain, and debris. Upgrade yours to be impact-resistant doors that qualify for MSFH program grants.
Entry Doors
Single entry doors are a common sight throughout Tampa. Make yours stand out with beautiful new MSFH-compliant doors built to take heavy impacts from hurricanes and more.
Double Entry Doors
Double doors create an impact on visitors. Make sure that yours can take an impact, too! Upgrade your entryway by replacing your existing doors with impact-resistant doors.
French Doors
Add a classical charm while enhancing your home’s wind mitigation with large, heavy-duty French doors that are as beautiful as they are tough with impact-resistant construction.

I reached out to Karoly for new sliding windows in my florida room and two exterior doors. Karoly came out and spent quite a while getting all the measurements right. That makes you feel good. When the installers came out, two days and done. Windows look great and the doors are solid and close tight. Everything is now impact and hurricane rated. I got my insurance discount. Thanks Karoly!+0Posted on Google![]()

I am very hard to please as I pretty much expect close to perfection. From a serious point I just want a TEAM that cares and gives it their best. Mistakes happen. However today I had Hurricane windows placed by Karoly. Actually from the very beginning it was like dealing with a family. In all my dealing with different companies A/C etc they far outshined any company I have ever dealt with. My techs were Vili, Zoli and Christian. They gave 150%, were very clean, cared about our house and did exquisite workmanship. 1,000% incredible and guess what they are not my relatives. LOLPosted on Google![]()

I will never be able to brag enough about how superior this company is. My husband and I interviewed at least seven window companies, all full of similar products of PGT or other hurricane safe Windows. We became window experts on our own with the knowledge we absorbed comparing apples to apples. Karoly was the final company we met with and Austin presentation was simple and he showed us a sample and did all the measurements. He explained the Simonton brand very well and the warranty they offer cannot be beat. We visited their showroom and met with Jesse to really look at products. Our decision was quick and easy and the price was better than their competitors. We completed all the paperwork with Richy and Angela and the rest of the wonderful staff. Installation day came and we met the fantastic installers that were so kind and clean. In 3 days our job was done. The day after that inspector came and passed us and one week later Karoly came back to complete final installation of some parts and now it’s all finished. These windows have changed our home completely. Not only did we work with the best contractor and save money we also gained a more beautiful home and it’s so quiet! No barking dogs or loud traffic or thunder anymore just peaceful tranquility!!! Thank you everyone at Karoly for making us so happy!!! I promise to call you again for all my other houses!! This was the best thing we’ve ever done without a doubt . Sincerely, Cheryl & Doug Sigmon+2Posted on Google![]()

After researching a few companies, I decided to go with Karoly. They replaced 19 windows and 3 sliders with Sinomton Stormbreaker Plus 300VL and Simonton Maxview. I enjoyed reading the information they had on their website and pleased to see this is a family owned business with emphasis on quality work and customer satisfaction. Employees were pleasant and professional and answered my questions. It has only been almost 2 years since installation and from my experience thus far, I would highly recommend Karoly.Posted on Google![]()

I couldn't be happier with my experience with Karoly Windows & Doors! They replaced all of my windows along with two doors, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, everyone was professional, friendly, and truly cared about doing the job right. The installation crews were outstanding. They were hardworking, respectful of my home, paid attention to every detail, and the quality of their workmanship was exceptional. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the window replacement, the beautiful new doors, and the finished results. I was so impressed with the company that I've already recommended Karoly Windows & Doors to several of my neighbors. It's refreshing to work with a company that delivers exactly what they promise. If you're considering window replacement, I highly recommend Karoly Windows & Doors. They are a true first-class company, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the entire experience.+1Posted on Google![]()

My Safe Florida Home Tampa FAQs Section
How Many Times Can You Apply for the My Safe Florida Home Program?
Once. Each eligible home can be entered into the program a single time.
However, multiple upgrades can be considered at once, so when applying for the program, make sure you perform as many wind mitigation upgrades as possible up front.
How Much Does the My Safe Florida Home Program Pay Tampa Homeowners
The program offers matching grants of up to $10,000, subject to the program’s approval. For most eligible homeowners, the State contributes $2 for every $1 the homeowner contributes, so a $10,000 grant corresponds to $15,000 of eligible work. Low-income homeowners may receive up to $10,000 without a match.
To learn more about how much your home could qualify for, visit mysafeflhome.com and sign up for a free wind mitigation inspection.
What’s the Cost to Register for a Wind Mitigation Inspection?
The wind mitigation inspection for the My Safe Florida home program is free for qualifying Tampa homeowners. You don’t have to pay a penny to get the inspection done. If you find someone trying to charge you for a wind mitigation inspection, they aren’t part of the MSFH program and should be reported to the authorities.
You can apply for a free inspection through the MSFH program website after creating a portal account.
I Thought I Got $2 for Every $1 I Spend on Wind Mitigation Upgrades?
Generally, yes. For most eligible homeowners, the State contributes $2 for every $1 you contribute, up to a $10,000 grant. For example, $15,000 of eligible work could mean a $10,000 grant and $5,000 from you. Low-income homeowners may receive up to $10,000 without a match. The program determines the final amount.
Are There Other Sources of Funding I Can Use to Upgrade My Doors and Windows?
Yes! The My Safe Florida Home program isn’t the only program that can provide funds for upgrading your home’s doors and windows. For example, there’s the Florida PACE program, which may also provide some funding to help cover the cost of hurricane mitigation and energy efficiency upgrades to your home’s doors and windows in some areas of Hillsborough County.
However, PACE is a loan requiring repayment, unlike the MSFH program.
What Are the Requirements for the Free Wind Mitigation Inspection?
To qualify for the free wind mitigation inspection, a home must be:
- owner-occupied (no rental properties);
- site-built (no mobile homes);
- granted a homestead exemption under s. 196.031, Fla. Stat.; and
- a single-family home, detached or attached (such as a townhome), not over three stories.
Apartments, condo units in multi-story buildings, cooperatives and vacation homes generally don’t qualify. Since the inspection is required before a grant, the same rules apply to grants. Condo owners: Karoly still replaces windows and doors in condos; ask us for a quote.
Who Can Apply for My Safe Florida Home Program Grants?
The My Safe Florida Home program is accepting applications for the 2026–27 fiscal year. The program prioritizes applicants by income and age, and only the State can determine eligibility.
To qualify for a grant, generally:
- your home’s insured value is $700,000 or less;
- your home was built before January 1, 2008;
- you completed an MSFH wind-mitigation inspection within the past 24 months; and
- you meet the program’s low- or moderate-income guidelines.
