When planning improvements to your home to increase resistance to hurricanes, impact windows prices are always a major concern. Impact windows often cost more to install than non-impact windows because of the safety features that make them more hurricane and impact-resistant.
Recently, Cornerstone Building Brands, a major supplier of impact windows and doors with several different brands under their umbrella, announced that they’re set to increase their prices for impact windows and doors across several key brands.
How much is this increase? What does it mean for your impact window and door installation costs? Are there any ways you can reduce the sting on your wallet for making hurricane resistance improvements to your home?
How Much Are Impact Windows Prices Increasing?
The amount of increase will vary depending on the product and the brand. Here’s what we know from Cornerstone’s announcement:

| Cascade | Casement/Awning/Patio Door Series | 5% |
| EAS | Casement/Awning/Patio Door Series | 5% |
| Aluminum Windows | 10% | |

| Ply Gem | Casement/Awning/Patio Door Series | 5% |
| Aluminum Clad Windows and Doors | 10% | |
| Prime | Casement/Awning/Patio Door Series | 5% |
| Silver Line | Casement/Awning/Patio Door Series | 5% |
| Simonton | Casement/Awning/Patio Door Series | 5% |
| SoftLite | Casement/Awning/Patio Door Series | 5% |
| Thermo-Tech | Casement/Awning/Patio Door Series | 5% |
What Does This Price Increase Mean for My Window Installation Cost?
The increase in impact windows prices means that the cost of installation will also need to increase to accommodate for the higher cost of goods (COG) for future window installations.
So, say that you had a window installation project that would normally cost $15,000 just for materials (i.e., your new impact windows and doors). With a 5% increase, the cost of that installation would go up by $750, raising material costs to $15,750.
The installer would then need to increase the price on their installation quote to make up for the difference in the new cost of goods.
So, when impact windows prices go up, the cost of installing new hurricane impact windows will increase for all Florida homeowners.
When Is the Impact Window Price Increase Happening?
As stated in Cornerstone’s announcement letter, “rising costs have driven us to review our pricing structure so we can maintain Cornerstone Building Brands’ commitment to quality and value to our customers. Effective September 15,2025, we will be implementing a 5% – 10% increase.”
Inflation is a normal part of doing business. As the cost of goods for window and door manufacturers rises, those manufacturers need to set their prices higher to maintain profitability so they can remain in operation.
How Can I Make Impact Window Installation More Affordable?
There are ways to make the increase in impact windows prices less impactful on your home hurricane resistance remodeling budget. Several programs and options exist that can lessen the sting on your pocketbook, such as:
- My Safe Florida Home. The MSFH program offers Floridians a rebate for making critical hurricane resistance improvements to their home. Under this program, you can claim up to $10,000 in rebates for making $15,000 worth of wind mitigation improvements to your home if your home qualifies for the program.
- The Florida PACE Program. The Florida PACE program provides loans to homeowners looking to make many kinds of home improvements projects in Florida. This includes installing impact-resistant windows and other hurricane-hardening upgrades for the home. This program is a loan, so it does require repayment—unlike the MSFH program’s tax-free grant.
- Private Financing Options. Karoly Windows & Doors works with several financial organizations to provide affordable financing options to homeowners that help reduce the sting on their pocketbooks for installing impact windows and doors. We even have a financing option from GreenSky where customers can enjoy six months of no payments required for their financing. And, if you pay off the loan in that six months, you don’t have to pay any interest (though interest accrues normally if you start paying after the six-month no-payment period).
A small increase in impact windows prices doesn’t have to price you out of hurricane-proofing your home. The benefits of making this crucial upgrade can more than outweigh the cost of installing impact windows.
For example, did you know that having hurricane impact windows installed can help you save money on your home insurance premiums? Additionally, when major storms strike, you’ll be glad you installed windows and doors tough enough to keep the wind, rain, and storm debris out of your home!
