Window prices are a major factor in any window replacement. Everyone wants their windows to be low-cost. However, like with everything else, window prices tend to go up year over year.
Just last year, we covered a story about how Cornerstone Building Brands, the parent company of Simonton Windows, was increasing prices across the board for many of their products.
Well, it’s that time of year again. Both Cornerstone Building Brands and MITER Brands have announced price increases for the window and door products of all their subsidiaries… including both Simonton and PGT windows. How much are window prices increasing? When are these increases going into effect? What can you do to manage the increasing cost of windows?
Let’s start with the MITER Brands price increase:

What Can I Do About Window Price Increases?
So, you might be wondering what you can do to cope with the increasing cost of window installation. After all, a cost increase for the windows will, naturally, mean that installers will have to charge more as well.
Here are a few strategies for making windows easier to afford in the face of increasing prices:
- Leverage Government Programs. Government programs, like the My Safe Florida Home (MSFH) program, can help you make installing new impact windows more affordable by covering a portion of your installation costs via rebates and other incentives.
- Make Your Order Before the Price Increase Happens. If you can, try to lock in low prices before they go up by placing your window order before a price hike goes into effect. If signing a deal a week or two earlier can save you 10% on a $30,000 window installation, you’ll be in a better position.
- Consider Window Financing. If you want to close a window order sooner, but don’t have the liquid funds for the down payment to cover the cost of manufacturing your new windows, consider using window financing offers. With financing, you can have the lender cover your costs in the short term and pay them back over time. Some financing plans even have 0% introductory interest rates where, if you pay off the full balance before the introductory period ends, you won’t owe any interest at all on the loan!
Every year, prices go up for windows. This is why now is always the best time to get your window replacement done. You never know what the future might bring, but you can help ensure your home is better prepared for it and that you’re spending less by ordering new impact windows ahead of the next window price increase.
